Voice instructor Daniel O’Dea performs on Grammy winning recording
The Crossing won the Grammy for Best Choral Performance 2018. While this is The Crossing's second Grammy (and third nomination), this particular win is special because one of the singers is Madison Music Foundry voice instructor Daniel O'Dea.
The Crossing is a Philadelphia based chamber choir that specializes in contemporary composition. This recording is a work by composer Lansing McLoskey titled Zealot Canticles: A Musical Plea for Tolerance. Written for clarinet, string quartet and 24 voice choir, the piece is based on the writings of Nobel prize winning writer Wole Soyinka. Daniel is a member of the tenor section and has been singing with the group since 2010. You can listen to the work on Spotify. Or purchase the recording from The Crossing's website.
